A/L ICT Lesson 01 Practice Tool: Basic Concepts

This is a practice tool for Unit 1 of the Sri Lankan GCE Advanced Level ICT syllabus, Grade 12. It covers data and information, the data life cycle, the input-process-output model, the parts of a computer system, data capture devices, data validation, ICT applications by field, and the effect of ICT on society. The unit is worth about 5% of the syllabus and typically carries 4 to 6 MCQ marks and 5 to 10 marks on Paper II.

Twelve activities are grouped into six modules: sorting exercises, flip cards, a sequencing task, scenario questions, a labelled diagram, a matching task, a working data validation form, an interactive map, a benefit-or-issue sorter, and a timed final quiz. Your score is kept in your browser, so you can close the page and come back to it.

The tool opens in English. Tap the language button to switch the whole tool to Sinhala. Both languages use the same terms as the Lesson 1 notes, so what you practise here matches what you read there.
