A/L ICT Lesson 12 Practice Tool: ICT in Business
This is a practice tool for Unit 12 of the Sri Lankan GCE Advanced Level ICT syllabus, Grade 13 (Competency 12), on the role of ICT in business. It covers the digital economy and how ICT gives a business a competitive advantage, new business methods such as reverse auctions, group purchasing and e-marketplaces, pure-brick, brick-and-click and pure-click organisations, the difference between e-commerce and e-business, the transaction types B2B, B2C, C2C, C2B and G2C with everyday examples, e-business models including virtual storefronts, information brokers and online marketplaces, and e-marketing methods such as search engine optimisation, social media and email marketing, web advertising and using customer data and AI to predict buying behaviour. This unit is mostly conceptual and appears in both MCQ and Paper II questions.
Eighteen activities are grouped into six modules: matching drills, flip cards, sorting exercises for business types, transaction types and e-commerce versus e-business, a swipe task on traditional versus digital marketing, and a timed quiz. Your score is kept in your browser, so you can close the page and return to it.
The tool opens in English. Tap the language button to switch the whole tool to Sinhala. Both languages will use the same terms as the Lesson 12 notes once that page is published.
