OL ICT Simulator Tool 8. Presentation

O/L ICT Lesson 8 Practice Tool: Electronic Presentations

This is a practice tool for Unit 8 of the Sri Lankan GCE Ordinary Level ICT syllabus, Grade 10 (Competency 8), on electronic presentations. It covers what presentation software is and common examples such as Microsoft PowerPoint, LibreOffice Impress and Google Slides, slides and slide shows, slide layouts including the title slide, title and content, two content, section header and blank layouts, the slide master, the objects you place on a slide such as text boxes, images, shapes, charts, tables, video and audio, the difference between an animation applied to an object and a transition applied between slides, and good design practices such as the six by six rule, using good contrast, staying consistent and keeping animations simple, along with the shortcut keys F5 to start a show, Escape to end it and Control M to insert a slide. This is a core unit that appears in MCQ and short Paper II questions.

Eighteen activities are grouped into six modules: matching drills, flip cards for presentation terms, sorting exercises for object types and for animations versus transitions, an ordering task for building a slide, a swipe task on good and bad slide practice, and timed quizzes. Your score is kept in your browser, so you can close the page and return to it.

The tool opens in English. Tap the language button to switch the whole tool to Sinhala. Both languages use the same terms as the Lesson 8 notes.
