O/L ICT Lesson 4 Practice Tool: Logic Gates
This is a practice tool for Unit 4 of the Sri Lankan GCE Ordinary Level ICT syllabus, Grade 10 (Competency 4), on logic gates and Boolean functions. It covers the basic gates AND, OR and NOT, the derived gates NAND, NOR and XOR, how each gate behaves for every combination of binary inputs, reading and building truth tables, writing gate behaviour as Boolean expressions such as Y equals A dot B for AND, Y equals A plus B for OR and Y equals NOT A for NOT, following the output of a small logic circuit gate by gate, and the common Boolean laws including the identity, idempotent, inverse and absorption laws. This is a core unit that appears in MCQ and short Paper II questions.
Eighteen activities are grouped into six modules: matching drills, flip cards for gates and Boolean symbols, sorting exercises that work out gate outputs, an ordering task for reading a circuit, and timed quizzes. Your score is kept in your browser, so you can close the page and return to it.
The tool opens in English. Tap the language button to switch the whole tool to Sinhala. Both languages use the same terms as the Lesson 4 notes.
