A/L ICT Lesson 13 Practice Tool: New Trends in ICT
This is a practice tool for Unit 13, the final unit of the Sri Lankan GCE Advanced Level ICT syllabus, Grade 13 (Competency 13), on new trends and future directions in computing. It covers artificial intelligence including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing and expert systems, the difference between narrow and general AI, AI applications such as chatbots, computer vision and recommendation systems, emotional or affective computing and the coexistence of humans and intelligent machines, software agents and their properties of autonomy, reactivity, proactivity and social ability, multi-agent systems, nature-inspired and biology-inspired computing such as neural networks, genetic algorithms and swarm intelligence, computing beyond the von Neumann architecture, and the fundamentals of quantum computing including qubits, superposition and entanglement. This is a conceptual unit that appears in MCQ and short Paper II questions.
Eighteen activities are grouped into six modules: matching drills, flip cards for AI and quantum concepts, sorting exercises, a swipe task on the benefits and concerns of AI, and a timed quiz. Your score is kept in your browser, so you can close the page and return to it.
