A/L ICT Lesson 07 Practice Tool: Systems Analysis and Design (SSADM)
This is a practice tool for Unit 7 of the Sri Lankan GCE Advanced Level ICT syllabus, Grade 12 (Competency 7), on systems analysis and design using the SSADM approach. It covers system characteristics and classification (open and closed, natural and man-made), types of information system such as TPS, MIS and DSS, the systems development life cycle and methodologies (waterfall, prototyping, agile, spiral and RAD), the feasibility study (technical, economic and operational), functional and non-functional requirements, data flow diagrams and their symbols, logical data modelling, the data dictionary, testing (white-box and black-box; unit, integration, system and acceptance), changeover strategies (direct, parallel, pilot and phased) and the trade-offs of off-the-shelf software. This unit carries heavy structured-essay marks on Paper II.
Seventeen activities are grouped into six modules: matching drills, flip cards for DFD symbols, sorting exercises, a swipe task, step-sequencing for the SDLC, and timed quizzes. Your score is kept in your browser, so you can close the page and return to it.
